Jewellery part one

Today we would like to share with you some of the jewellery pieces that we have that are ideal accessories for party dresses. Whether it's a Hollywood themed party where its all full length gowns or just lunch at the pub, accessories are a vital part of an outfit and they can accentuate your look or totally kill it.

Most times am a minimalist when it comes to accessories and i prefer the delicate diamante detail accessories but once in a while i find myself drawn to chunky ethnic pieces, with oversized coloured stones/beads. This is especially when am wearing a simple dress and am looking for the accessories to make the statement.

All the accessories we share with you today are costume jewellery. I so wish it was diamond and gold but well well.... Here we go.

I will start with my favourite range which is the diamante 4 piece set. It consists of a necklace,a pair of earrings, a delicate bracelet and an adjustable ring. Its not possible for me to share with you all that we have in stock but here is a few, you can visit and like our Facebook Page for the entire collection.

Then we have the colourful chunky pieces which are great with a plain coloured dress or an ethnic outfit.

Of course there's the much loved pearls. Sometimes i feel like pearls are quite tricky to pull off. I have found that one strand of pearl necklace can be quite ageing. However pearls stacked together look great and feminine.

Next time we continue with crystal glass jewellery sets, chandelier earrings and brooches.

Please let us know what you think of the jewellery sets above, your favourite pieces and anything else.

Peplum Tops

Am in love with the peplum trend and all that it comes with from tops, skirts and dresses.
I have recently been experimenting with different fabrics and cuts of peplums and am yet to get one that didn't feel right.

This wine red peplum top is perfect with a black pencil skirt for work or even with trousers. It has lovely pleated detail on the neckline and comes with a visible zip. £19.99

Then there's black peplum top which is a wardrobe staple for this season. I love having a plain one for those formal meetings and do's and i have one with embellishment for a night out or for going out shopping. £19.99

I still haven't tried a cream/white one yet but i came across this one and thought i could try and work it. Any suggestions of the bottom for me? here's the top £18

I think the one below will also look great with a pencil skirt or a trouser. Its cream with mesh sweetheart neckline as well as mesh sleeves. Here it is £19.99

And finally, there is this lovely blue peplum top with no detail at all. Its made of soft jersey fabric and its simply sweet. What do you think?  £14.99

What do you think of peplum tops and will you be trying one on soon?
Looking forward to hearing from you

Dipped hem dress

The dipped hem dress is very trendy for this season and also happens to be a very practical dress style. Sometimes i find that what is trendy can be somewhat limiting for most of us and not very forgiving for certain body shapes.

The very nature of the dress is delicate making it a statement piece in your wardrobe.
If you are tired of wearing maxi dresses to every wedding or party and are not really into mini dresses then this the perfect compromise for you, having the best of both worlds.

Because the dress is floaty it covers up any lumps and bumps.
Depending on your bust size you can either go for a round neck dipped hem dress, v-neck or even sweetheart neckline.

If you have a generous bust and are not afraid to show a bit of cleavage indulge in a plunging neckline dipped hem dress. This is sure to be a show stopping look for you.

Accessorised properly, a dipped hem dress in a good fabric like chiffon is gorgeous.Pair it up with a jacket and heels for the day look and ditch the jacket for the night out.

Do you like the dipped hem dress, let me know what you think.

A dress you will love whatever your body shape

I recently came across this colour block dress and i loved it on sight.
Its a dress that evens out the proportions  as well as hides what shouldn't be seen.
With colour blocking still a big trend this spring summer this dress ticks all the boxes.
We are retailing it at £24.99.
And for celeb inspiration, well look how Kate Winslet rocked it.

The truth about my prom night.

I haven’t told this to anyone but it got to a point where I had to admit at least to myself that the real reason I didn’t attend prom is that I wasn’t confident I would pull the look I had in my head.
You see prom was this night that people talked about since first year and it was something that girls planned with precision. I knew that I wanted to go for prom. I knew that I wanted to look stunning. I knew that I wanted a long gown and nice silver sandals. But I wasn’t sure that I could attain the look in my head. So I came up with all these excuses so that my girlfriends wouldn’t feel like I was bailing out. And the night came and I missed my prom because I wasn’t confident enough.
With hindsight I wish I went for prom. I wish that I had been confident enough to believe that I would look stunning in my choice of dress. I had actually seen my dream dress and tried it on. The shop manager thought I looked amazing but it was all too much for me. I don’t like being the centre of attention and I felt like the dress was over the top but I also deep down felt like I couldn’t pull it through.
Well they say in life there’s second chances and I got a chance to wear my dream prom dress in my best friends wedding. Her colour scheme was sky blue and she allowed me to pick a dress of my choice. In my opinion I looked stunning (I hope she doesn’t read this).
And that’s why I felt that as the prom season is now upon us I should encourage any girls out there. Don’t be discouraged by the catalogues of prom dresses. Not everyone can look like a model but we are all stunning when we wear our choice of dress confidently. Shop around and try on different styles of dresses. Don’t just try on what you have in your mind but be open to the possibilities that designers have created for you. If you know for sure you want a mermaid gown, try a short dress, a bandage dress, a dipped hem, Grecian style and all other styles available.
Also try on a range of colours. We all have favourite colours but sometimes sticking to your favourite colour makes you predictable and boring. If you are a  girl who loves black why not try jewel tones or metallic and see how that looks on you.  Bright colours tend to lift moods and boost confidence. You can also stick to black but with embellishment to give it the glam look. Try pearls or sequins perhaps even glitter.
Having done all that you can please remember that prom is all about having fun and dancing with your friends. Make it a night to remember, smile, dance and let the night roll.

Corset or was it cinchers II

Hope you had a good weekend. I had a great one .
This is in continuation to my blog last week on my testing of the corset.

Its been couple of weeks now of wearing a corset on alternate days. Like i said before the hardest bit about wearing a corset is in the mind. Get past that block that says its uncomfortable, or that you won't breathe or that its too tight. Get a grip of the fact that it pays to look good coz you feel good and it shows in your posture and behaviour all day. Its been while now and i still wake up and think "do i really have to wear a corset today?". So it takes some getting used to but so does wearing tights or a bra.

By the way when i refer to corset am talking about the ESBELT Corset.
That's the best I've found so far and if its been used by Gok Wan to style women it must be good :D)

One of the immediate benefits of wearing the Esbelt corset according to my own observation is that it lifts the bust.
This gives you a great posture and obviously works wonders on clothes giving you an amazing silhouette.

I also found that when i wear a corset i don't slump at my desk as am normally in the habit of doing. It  helps me sit upright in a proper posture and hence by end of day my shoulders don't feel strained.

The best benefit that I've proven by wearing the corset on alternate days is that your stomach muscles actually feel and look more toned and not flabby.
It doesn't work overnight. You need to wear the right size of corset and be consistent. When it comes to size i have had experiences with ladies who believe that the smaller the corset the better. However corsets do come in sizes and its important that you buy your actual size and not a smaller size. Most ladies who give up on wearing corsets are those who went ahead and bought a smaller size so when they manage to get it on they can hardly breathe. Thats not only uncomfortable but its also dangerous.Make sure when you buy a corset you ask the retailer about the proper sizing. Esbelt corsets have very clear size charts and if you are to purchase one i would recommend that you buy your actual size.

Also because its a corset and not a body suit you don't have to worry about the convenience of going to the washroom which is what many women struggle with when it comes to waist cinches because most of them come in the form of body suits.

I have read that its been scientifically proven that your body can actually get used to waist constriction to the extent that you reduce your actual waist size using a corset. I haven't proven that yet because i think thats a bit extreme. If you want to lose weight i would say watch your diet and exercise, however while keeping at it buy a corset and help smooth the lumps and bumps. Don't let the excess lumps limit your wardrobe rather tame them using a corset as you work towards a more long term solution.

I hence will boldly say for what its worth, a corset is a great investment for every wardrobe.

Last week a naughty friend asked me if i was going to do a review of the ESBELT BUM BUM
Taking on the challenge, ill wear a bum bum for a couple of days and let you know.....
Don't believe am doing this.......

Please leave your comments and suggestions on the box below i love reading from you and yes you can forward the blog to your friends and share it on Facebook

Till next week,keep warm..

Corset or waist cinchers

Many women are embarrassed to admit that they use a corset or any other shapewear.
I use a corset and i tell everyone who asks me. I think its one the things every wardrobe must have regardless of your size. Its not about size but more about smoothing out edges :D)

Am a typical UK size 12 on a normal day. I say normal day because my winter eating habits have a way of moving me up a dress size and then the rest of the year am a size 12.
I have found that when i wear some dresses there are a few areas that need some smoothing out.
The truth is even if i went to the gym it wouldn't guarantee that smoothing effect in that particular area.
Don't get me wrong am all into exercising and keeping fit and its part of my daily routine.
However there comes some days when i wear a bodycon  dress that needs to hug the figure and not show the "sins"  that i grab my corset and let it do the work for me.

When i think of wearing a corset i feel tired!! literally.
Its one of those things that make you go like "no, not again". But I've found that once i have it on, its not half as bad as i thought it was. I wear the ESBELT Corset which is the toughest in the market. Its also one of the very few corsets available in the market that doesn't ride when you walk or sit and thats the main reason i love it.

When i first got it, i opened the pack and was shocked. The smell of latex was so intense. Thats because the corset is made of 100% latex don't go into shock please, it has a triple layer of cotton to ensure that its comfortable next to your skin.

So i rinsed it  and hang it to dry and be ready to wear the following day.
I wore it the following morning and boy was it tight! I know they say no pain no gain but.......
It felt like the whole of me was compressed and the 8 hours were so long. The only reasons  that kept me going were A, everyone said i looked stunning in the dress i wore and , i have a policy of not giving up easily so yeah i held on for 8 solid hours. I got through it and wasn't too sure i was willing to do it again ever. So i packed my corset and didn't wear it for a couple of weeks.

Then one day i woke up and decided no i need to do this.
I need to test this corset, i need to know if it does what it says it does.
And thats why am writing  to tell you of my tests and findings of the ESBELT corset.

Please watch out for the rest of the article on Monday you will love it.

What do you think of this dress?

Every once in a while i come across a dress that blows my mind away.
I think this dress has done exactly that for me. I don't know if its the colour, the studded detail, the elegance, the fabric or the fact that Kate Perry and Nicole Kidman wore something quite similar??

I love it, tell me what you think. I love my lilac one...

Look of the day

Hei,

Critique this look for me. Am really sorry i don't have shoes yet...the key word is yet. We are working night and day to get that in the store.

So meanwhile we make do with what we have. If i told you to wear this dress and carry this clutch bag and accessorise with this bracelet made of hematite beads, would you? Please be as honest and detailed as possible e.g If you don't think you would carry the clutch please describe the kind of clutch you would prefer.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts xxx
