Clara is getting married in May this year. She had to bring her wedding forward, as her fiancee' has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and the doctors have given him 3 months at the most. They had to make a decision to get married in May instead of the planned December date as his condition keeps getting worse. I wasn't going to write about it but Clara requested me to write on it and encourage anyone out there who has to go through a wedding quickly due to similar circumstances.
She was in good spirits when she came in and all she wanted was a simple white dress that she could wear for both the official ceremony and the reception. We laughed as she talked about how she has had to cancel all previous bookings as well as organise new ones and we cried as we talked about Allan her fiancee'. They are using the same wedding invites they had previously printed but they crossed out the printed date and have hand-written the new date on. To her all that matters, is for the family and close friends to come together and make this a really special day.
She kept saying "Rosy, please tell your clients not to obsess too much about the perfection of the wedding day, but rather let them enjoy their partner and the time they have with them. Yes, we all want a beautiful wedding day but don't let that cloud your mind so much that it ends up being stressful. Life is too short."
For someone going through so much, she was incredibly strong and open about her experience. Some days are so hard as Allan is in so much pain and he can't help her with much and today was one such day. They were supposed to come shopping together but unfortunately he was in too much pain. She has learnt to make good of every minute they have together.
They are having a cosy family and close friends wedding and she still wants everyone to enjoy themselves and have it in their memory. They no longer have a colour scheme and she says that the more colours the better.
We got her a lovely off-white full length dress, with a sheer sweetheart neckline embellished with lace and micro-diamante' . She looked amazing in it during the fitting and coincidentally her wedding invites have similar embellishments on them.
Please join me in praying that Clara and Allan have the most amazing day and that he will be well enough to walk down the aisle.
To Clara, our love and prayers.
Rosy
