What to wear to a colour themed party without buying a dress in that colour :-)

I got invited to a party and the party colour theme was green and yellow. Those colours aren't my favourite and i wasn't going to buy a one-time wear dress.

So after much thought and wardrobe search, i came up with an idea. I decided to wear a simple black dress and make a green floral cape to go over the dress.

This is the chiffon cape i made to go over my little black dress and the combination looked amazing.

The capes are custom made starting from £15 each. The green scalloped lace neckline is optional but it was a winner and so many people commented on it.
