Body shape

One of the best things that we can all do before buying any more clothes is to figure out our body shapes. This will help in buying only the clothes that flatter your body shape and bring out your best features while covering what you don't fancy.

Each stylist has his or her own system of determining  and naming various body shapes. We use the 5 basic body shapes and then adjust depending on the client.

It’s easy to identify your body shape even at home.
Using a tape measure, simply take the following measurements and note them down:
1.   Across the bust,
2.   Across the under bust
3.   Across the waist and
4.   Mid thigh.

Then using the definitions below, determine your body shape.

Pear- Your hips and thighs will be the largest measurements, then usually the bust followed by your waist.

Apple: These measurements will be similar across the bust and hips, with not much difference between your under bust and your waist.
Hourglass: The bust and hip measurement will be your largest, and then your waist measurement will be quite small.

Petite: You could be any of the other measurement combinations; however you will be shorter and tend to have broader shoulders.

Slim Athletic: Your measurements will be fairly regular across their hips, waist, bust and under bust. You will also have fairly regular measurements across your mid thigh as well.

Hourglass: The bust and hip measurement will be your largest, and then your waist measurement will be quite small.
