Little dress for a house party / barbecue

The much awaited spring is here and the weather is lovely. Everyone is happy and excited, the barbecue grills have been dusted and house party invites are in plenty.

I love house parties because i feel there's less pressure to dress up and they tend to be warm and cosy. I don't particularly like crowds and you can only have so many people in a house so it's the perfect party for me.

On Monday, Angela came looking for a dress to attend a house party this weekend. She is 4 months pregnant and wanted something that she can wear with leggings, more like a tunic. She is only little, so we opted for a mini dress with a band just below the bust line. This accentuated her bust and made her feel comfortable and smart.

This dress is chiffon hence light and airy. It has slitted cap sleeves to cover the upper arm as she feels her upper arms are big :-) and she has a huge tattoo she got in her teens that she detests.

Her favourite colour is red and we  agreed that a a pair of black leggings would look great .

What do you think of this little dress?

Ever had an invite to a beach wedding and wondered what to wear?

One of my friends received an invite for a destination beach wedding.
The invitation card read like a romance novel. The wedding was a 2 day affair . The first evening was a traditional barefoot sunset wedding on Diani Beach. Every invited lady was a bridesmaid and they could wear whatever colour and style of dress they chose.

The flowers, make up and hair styling would be provided on site by a professional team and the bride  had already paid for it. The second day was even more exciting. Starting with a spa treat after breakfast followed by a skydive adventure for those interested. The photo session for the second day was only for the couple so there was no pressure on the outfits.

The guests were also welcome to join the couple on a 5 day safari to the Masai Mara at a very small additional cost.

As most girls would, we quickly logged onto Google to view pictures of the hotel and my goodness, the place is so picturesque, we could only daydream.

Back to our mission, which was to get my friend a dress that's perfect for this beach wedding. We settled on a coral dipped hem chiffon dress with a small sparkly waist detail. We loved the fact that the fabric is light and floaty for the warm weather and also the dress is pretty and practical for a barefoot beach wedding.

We will share with you pictures of her in the dress once she jets back.
