Party season

The party season is here and we were having a chat with some lovely ladies about cut out dresses :-).

Am not a fan for reasons i am not willing to type out yet but i do think they look great on certain people. If you are one of the select few who can get away with cut out you will have fun this season as they are a big trend. Big slits and side and back cut outs are all over the high street.

However if you, like me don't really feel the whole cut out vibe i wanted to share with you options that will leave you bang on trend yet comfortable.

There is the option of a mesh cut out dress. Where instead of having a gaping hole on the dress you have a mesh covering that bit so technically it's still cut out but with a mesh :-)

Alternatively you could get a lace cut out.

What do you think of these cut out options?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Bodysuits

This week a customer wanted to buy this dress:

However she was attending a women's meeting and she felt that the deep v-neck was not appropriate.
She really loved the dress and the deal breaker was the v-neck.

We discussed her options including buying another dress for the meeting and then come back for this particular dress at a later date but because her mind had locked on this particular dress she just couldn't be convinced.

And as she was just about to give up, i remembered we have bodysuits :-)

And that sorted our problem!!!!

Bodysuits are great pieces of underwear to have in your drawer.
They come in handy when you need to add sleeves to a sleeveless dress or to wear underneath a sheer top or when you have a jacket/dress that had a deep neck cut.

Don't forget about these handy little garments they could come in handy some day.

Have a lovely weekend.

Statement Jewellery

Statement jewellery is still a huge trend this season. Statement necklaces look stunning when worn over delicate knits, polo necks or any high neck outfits during Autumn and Winter.

They help elongate the neck and are a must have piece for the style conscious lady.

What do you think of the piece below?
They would make great Christmas gifts and all come at £15 or below.

Fluffy Sweaters for Autumn 2013

Celebrities have been spotted in them this autumn and most high street shops now have them in stock.
Fluffy sweaters are a hot trend to keep you warm this season and we are loving them. Fluffy sweaters make you want to touch and once you touch you will want to buy it and own it.
They feel so warm and snuggly they make people want to cuddle you :-)

Team your fluffy sweater with a pencil skirt and boots for work or skinny jeans for the weekend.

This is one of those few items that would be best purchased in store as opposed to online.
Check that the sweater doesn't shed; otherwise you'll be leaving a trail everywhere you go.
Also it's advisable to try it on before purchase to ensure that it doesn't itch.
Unfortunately different people are sensitive to different yarns and whether it's a polyester blend, 100% wool or cashmere it would be good to try it on next to your skin and see if it feels comfortable.

Yellow has made me feel mellow today

Last week i had a chat with a lovely lady who is having a yellow and black themed wedding.
When i got off  the phone i thought "wow how strange is that?". I love yellow as a colour and i love black too but i would never in a million years thought that they would be a great combination.

This morning we met up with her three lovely bridesmaids we got just the perfect dresses and they looked amazing.  So cute were they that as they tried on the dresses another customer in the shop made an impulse buy of the same dresses. I can hardly wait for the wedding photos so that l can share them with you (if she allows me)

Here is a sneak of the dress.

Layer up your short dresses for the cold season

Temperatures are dipping and its time to think of adding more layers to keep warm.
That doesn't necessarily mean storing up all your short summer dresses.
Florals are still a big trend this Autumn/Winter and you can get away with your floral short dresses by adding a few layers to keep you warm.

It would be a good time to top up your hosiery by purchasing tights of a higher denier (60 and above tend to be good to keep away the cold). Invest in good quality tights that can take you through the season. Check your tights thoroughly after you put them on and make sure they do not have laddering and tears. We recommend that you have at least 4 pairs in your natural skin tone and another 3 pairs in colours that you find suitable to complement your wardrobe.

Last winter we saw an increase in supply of fleece leggings and am betting that we will have more this year and in different colours. These are great especially in the heart of winter.

Ultra fine polo neck knits are great investment pieces. They look great under a dress, a cardigan or a top. They don't have to match your dress, you can use them to inject some colour into your outfit.

We have a few ideas on layering, tell us what you think.

Belts

I have found that sometimes when an outfit feels a little drab, it helps to add some accessories.
Try one accessory at a time and see if that makes any difference on the outfit.

A belt is one such accessory that can transform an outfit as well as define your curves.
Belts are some of the easiest accessories to buy.

It helps to have two quality leather belts for that formal outfit. Black and brown leather belts are wardrobe staples. They last ages especially if you are like me who only uses mine twice a year. When shopping for a leather belt, invest in good quality leather and you'll be glad you did.

I particularly like elasticated belts because you can wear them on your waist or even on you hips. They come in a great range of colours and you can even have some embellishments on them. They are relatively cheaper and easier to get. It's easier to stock up in all the rainbow colours and not feel the pinch in your wallet

Do you love belts and what type and colours do you like most?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
